Here’s a Kickstarter that seems to be almost purely aimed at a nostalgic audience. Armikrog. is by Pencil Test Studios, the creators of The Neverhood and Earthworm Jim. The Neverhood was a claymation point and click adventure game released in 1996 (17 years ago for those wishing to avoid some quick maths) which sported lore comparable to any modern fantasy game, except the lore was entirely carved into clay in a stop-animation wall.
Armikrog. is more is less another claymation point and click adventure with puzzles, humour and great music, a visual and spiritual successor to The Neverhood. And as a side-note, it will be released for the Wii U… which is apparently Nintendo’s next gen console that was released late last year.
Armikrog. launched on Kickstarter on 29 May, 2013 with a goal of $900,000 and finished on 28 June 2013. It was successfully launched with 18,126 backers and a total funding of $974,578 (cutting it a little fine).
